Opportunity Product Quantity Precision

Microsoft defaults the quantity precision on the opportunity products to 5 decimal places. This works out great when you’re selling in bulk quantities but not so great when you’re selling widgets. Nobody wants 1/1000 of a widget!

This is what it looks like out of the box:

The fix is an easy one. All we need to do is modify the precision on the quantity field of the opportunity product and set it to 0. For those of you that need help getting there, navigate to Settings > Customization > Customize the System > Expand Entities > Expand Opportunity Product > Click on Fields > Double click the Quantity field

Modify the quantity precision

Modify the quantity precision

Our end result should now look like this. This minor change really impacts the user experience.

The opportunity product quantity with 0 decimals
